Dog Training Classes

Smart Dog Pet Training is currently only taking existing and returning clients in the Salem/Keizer area until further notice. We do have a waiting lists if you are a new client and would like to register. Available time slots will fill up fast. All clients in the Albany and Corvallis areas encouraged to register now while time slots are available.

When registering for in-home private dog training, you may have a lot of questions when it comes to choosing the right dog trainer for your dog.

Every dog has different training needs, and we offer many affordable in-home private dog training classes to meet your dogs needs regardless of the dogs behavior or age including individual sessions or packages.

Your private in-home dog training’s first meeting will always be an evaluation either online or in person, to meet your dog trainer, to answer all your questions, discuss your dog’s specific behavior and schedule your dog’s training sessions with you.

Dog Training Classes

Are private dog training classes right for you? Smart Dog Pet Training, LLC understands that private in-home dog training classes may not be the right solution for every dog owner. In order to be successful, it requires spending more time with your dog, create a bond, and become educated on how to understand your dogs breed and dog behavior.

Dog training can be held indoors or outdoors and customized for your dog’s specific dog behavior and training objectives.

Trip charges may apply in some areas of Oregon. Once registration has been completed we will send you an email confirmation to complete your registration and make your payment.

Free Phone Consultation: Free phone consultation discussing your dog’s behavior, pricing and how we can work around your busy schedule.

In-Home Trainer Consultation: $60.00. An opportunity for your trainer to come to you to evaluate your dog’s behavior and answer any questions you may have. Some training may be included.

Individual in-home private sessions: $60.00/hr. In-home training sessions with your trainer customized for your dog’s specific behaviors for puppies and adult dogs.

Puppy Training Classes

Puppy Basics: $185.00/4-Weeks. Puppy training where you will learn how to give your puppy a smart start. Leave-it, Watch me, Wait, Potty training, crate training, nipping/biting, and jumping. Your new puppy will learn basic manners and commands with customized training lessons to meet your puppies specific training needs. Includes free in-home orientation.

Advanced Puppy: $275.00/6-Weeks. Want to take your puppy to the next level? Continue what your puppy has already learned into more advanced training for distance, duration, distraction, proper greeting without jumping, off-leash training, recall, plus behavior specific training objectives. Includes free in-home orientation.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program: $275.00/6-weeks. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy provides a good lead-in to earning the Canine Good Citizen title. Includes free in-home orientation.

Dog Training Classes

Adult Dog Life Skills: $275.00/6-Weeks. Adult dogs needing help with dog obedience, dog behavior, socialization and leash training focusing on your dog’s specific dog behavior and training objectives. Includes free in-home orientation.

Distraction Training: $275.00/6-Weeks. Focusing on dog distractions and socialization skills, you and your trainer will meet at a different location each week in public places such as local pet stores, local and city parks, shopping malls and big brand stores such as Lowes and Home Depot. Not for aggressive dog behaviors. Refer to Behavioral Rehabilitation Modification program for dogs with reactivity or aggression behaviors. Includes free in-home orientation.

CGC (Canine Citizenship Certification Program: $275.00/6-weeks. A ten-skill training program that’s open to all dog breeds–purebred and mixed breed–that focuses on teaching the basics of dog obedience training, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community. Includes free in-home orientation.

AKC Community Canine: $275.00/6-weeks. A 10-step program conducted in real life situations—like walking on a busy sidewalk or through a local park–giving you and your dog the confidence to enjoy every day to the fullest, no matter what comes your way. Includes free in-home orientation.

AKC Urban CGC: $275.00/6-weeks. A 10-step program to the test that your dog must pass to earn the official AKC Urban CGC title, but it is administered in a place where there are cars, streets to be crossed, noises, and fast-paced distractions. Includes free in-home orientation.

AKC Trick Dog: $275.00/6-weeks. Trick dog training is a great way to provide your dog with physical and mental exercise. You and your dog will learn how to high five, or try more advanced tricks, like training your pup to jump into your arms. Includes free in-home orientation.

Behavioral Rehabilitation Modification Program: $550.00/6-Weeks. Dogs with fear or shy dog behavior, including aggressive dog behavior with other dogs or people, in or out of the home. This may include resource guarding, leash reactivity, dog aggression behavior, or any other specific aggression behavior you may be experiencing with your dog. All training may be a combination of indoors and public places. Includes free in-home orientation.

Dog Walking Programs

Dog Walking Services: $40.00/30-45 minute walks. Customized for your dog and individual exercise needs. All walks with your dog are one-on-one with dedicated attention and include basic training such as proper leash training, waiting at crosswalks and doorways. Shorter walks upon requests.

Weekly packages: $150.00/5 30-45 minute walks.
