When registering for dog training classes, you may have a lot of questions when it comes to choosing the right dog trainer for your dog.
Every dog has different training needs, and we offer many affordable in-home private dog training classes to meet your dogs needs regardless of the dogs behavior or age including individual sessions or packages.
Your private in-home dog training’s first meeting will always be an evaluation either online or in person, to meet your dog trainer, to answer all your questions, discuss your dog’s specific behavior and schedule your dog’s training sessions with you.
Are private dog training classes right for you? Smart Dog Pet Training, LLC understands that private in-home dog training classes may not be the right solution for every dog owner. In order to be successful, it requires spending more time with your dog, create a bond, and become educated on how to understand your dogs breed and dog behavior.
Dog training can be held indoors or outdoors and customized for your dog’s specific dog behavior and training objectives.

In-Home Trainer Consultation: $60.00. An opportunity for your trainer to come to you to evaluate your dog’s behavior and answer any questions you may have. Some training may be included.
Individual in-home private sessions: $60.00/hr. In-home training sessions with your trainer customized for your dog’s specific behaviors for puppies and adult dogs.
Puppy Classes: 4-Weeks $185.00; 6-Weeks $285.00
Puppy Basics: Puppy training where you will learn how to give your puppy a smart start. Leave-it, Watch me, Wait, Potty training, crate training, nipping/biting, and jumping. Your new puppy will learn basic manners and commands with customized training lessons to meet your puppies specific training needs. Includes free in-home orientation.
Advanced Puppy: Want to take your puppy to the next level? Continue what your puppy has already learned into more advanced training for distance, duration, distraction, proper greeting without jumping, off-leash training, recall, plus behavior specific training objectives. Includes free in-home orientation.
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program: $285.00/6-weeks. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy provides a good lead-in to earning the Canine Good Citizen title. Includes free in-home orientation. Adult Dog Classes: 4-Weeks $185.00; 6-Weeks $285.00
Adult Dog Life Skills: Adult dogs needing help with dog obedience, dog behavior, socialization and leash training focusing on your dog’s specific dog behavior and training objectives. Includes free in-home orientation.
Distraction Training: (May 1- September 30) Focusing on dog distractions and socialization skills, you and your trainer will meet at a different location each week in public places such as local pet stores, local and city parks, shopping malls and big brand stores such as Lowes and Home Depot. Not for aggressive dog behaviors. Refer to Behavioral Rehabilitation Modification program for dogs with reactivity or aggression behaviors. Includes free in-home orientation.
CGC (Canine Citizenship Certification Program: $275.00/6-weeks. A ten-skill training program that’s open to all dog breeds–purebred and mixed breed–that focuses on teaching the basics of dog obedience training, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community. Includes free in-home orientation. (Currently not taking new clients)
AKC Community Canine: $275.00/6-weeks. A 10-step program conducted in real life situations—like walking on a busy sidewalk or through a local park–giving you and your dog the confidence to enjoy every day to the fullest, no matter what comes your way. Includes free in-home orientation. (Currently not taking new clients)
AKC Urban CGC: $275.00/6-weeks. A 10-step program to the test that your dog must pass to earn the official AKC Urban CGC title, but it is administered in a place where there are cars, streets to be crossed, noises, and fast-paced distractions. Includes free in-home orientation. (Currently not taking new clients)
Behavioral Rehabilitation Modification Program: Currently unavailable in Salem, Albany, Corvallis and Eugene areas. 4-weeks $450.00; 6-Weeks $550.00. Dogs with fear or shy dog behavior, including aggressive dog behavior with other dogs or people, in or out of the home. This may include resource guarding, leash reactivity, dog aggression behavior, or any other specific aggression behavior you may be experiencing with your dog. All training may be a combination of indoors and public places. Includes free in-home orientation.
